Is My Property Suitable?

We consider a wide range of homes across Edinburgh. Here are the main things we look for before a property can proceed.

Location

The property must be within the City of Edinburgh Council area.

Bedrooms

Properties with one to four bedrooms can be considered. Studios and properties with five or more bedrooms are not suitable.

An open-plan living space with a separate bedroom counts as a one-bedroom property.

Property type

Normal residential houses and flats can be considered. Static caravans, park homes, holiday lodges and similar mobile accommodation are not suitable.

Bathroom and water

A conventional bathroom, shower room or wet room is suitable, and more than one bathroom is fine. The property must have a mains water supply.

Property condition

The property needs to be safe, usable and appropriately prepared before the lease begins. You can speak to us before every item is complete.

Certificates and compliance

The property must meet the relevant safety and compliance requirements before the lease begins. Josephs.Scot can guide you through what is required.
